Details: A course comprising four Sundays starting February 22nd.
- 4 pm - Beginning 6 Count Swing: Basic steps, styling & Fun! $40.
- 5 pm - Shim Sham Line Dance: The 1st Swing Line Dance. $40. (Optional Video Shoot March 15th & 29th)
- 6 pm - Lindy Hop Basics: The essential steps & styling, very cool!. $40.
- 7 pm - Inter. Lindy Hop: always different! Must know basic 8 ct Lindy. $40.
- 8-10 pm - Jazzin The Blues Swing Club Dance: FREE!

PRIVATES & GIFT IDEAS!
Privates: Private lessons, small group & Wedding classes available.
One hour private dance lessons for 1 or 2 persons for an upcoming Social Dance occasion or Wedding.
- WHY: Many people feel they are not ready for classes, a private lesson is a great way to circumvent busy schedules and shyness. This is also a great gift, or way to prepare for an upcoming event or WEDDING!
It is becoming very fashionable to give dance lessons to the wedding party and/or engaged couple as a fun way of preparing together for their special occasion.
Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing or Tango social dance lessons are available. Learn basic steps, styling, lead/follow connection, dips and turns, great entrances and exits to the dance floor!. All you need to feel comfortable and confident for that first dance or social event

- WHY: Because we love our music & dance and want to pass it on to the next generation!!.

A Word to Musicians!
Jazzin' The Blues Swing Club provides a fabulous new connection between musicians and dancers like in the old days of Harlem, where all ages can enjoy and participate in the conversation of improvisational Jazz, Swing, Charleston, and Swing Blues (like Sugar Blues).
The newly refurbished Agate Hall is the new home of Jazzin' The Blues Swing Club. Struttin' a whole new tune on the sunny side of the street with a newly refurbished floor, fresh paint, a huge stage, grand piano, and new curtains, right on the U of O campus with plenty of free parking.
This casual and yet exciting new opportunity has the bigger picture of preserving the music, dance, and era we love so much. As well as sharing it with the next generation, and helping those who work in the field explore new avenues of possibility.
Refreshments will be served, and there is plenty of room on the spacious new dance floor for the musicians and dancers to mingle as they share their love of Jazz, Swing Blues, Charleston, and Lindy Hop tempos. Bring your business cards and flyers, we will announce your events and gigs, sell your CD's!

March 23-27, 2009 - Eugene Spring Video Camp
ADD FUN MOVES TO YOUR SPRING !! 1 week of FUN, DANCING, VINTAGE FILM CLIPS, & MAKING A SWING VIDEO !!!
- This is a camp designed for ages 11 and up, running from Monday through to Friday
- Students will learn exciting 6 count & 8 count Lindy, vernacular Jazz movement, Charleston, styling, turns, lead & follow,dance etiquette and stage presence. No experience necessary.
- Classes will start at a beginning level and progress through intermediate level.
- During the week there will be moments of filming to show off the students personality, fun bloopers, shining moments, and friendships.
- The last day we will perform for the video. Friends & Family welcome!

Eugene Spring Camp
LOCATION: The Joint is Jumpin! Dance Studios, Eugene, Oregon - 1 - 5 pm.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can start on time.- 1 pm: Social Dance: basic steps, lead & follow technique.
- 2 pm: Performance Dance: fun steps & styling.
- 3 pm: Singing, interesting Vintage and Contemporary Dance Film Clips, pertaining to the Jazz era and the performance. Snack break: fresh cookies provided.
- 3:30 pm New moves.
- 4:30 pm: Putting it all together: learning stage presence, rehearsing in costume.
The last day, the performance will be at 5 pm, in costume, there will be several 'takes' for the video being produced, so we will do the number several times. Friends & Family are welcome to the final performance at 5 pm on Friday.
Students must be willing to be filmed during the week, and be in the video. Rights to this video remain with The Joint is Jumpin! Dance Studios, and may be aired on TV, or used in promotion of the Studio.
- A costume will be required for Wednesday - Friday.
- There will be time to learn only one number.
- Attendance to all days is necessary & highly recommended.
- Messy snacks and sticky drinks are not allowed, please have an early lunch before hand, and bring a water bottle.
- Fresh cookies will be provided!
FEE INCLUDES: excellent instruction & choreography, filming and production of the video, snacks, as well as the costs of mailing the dvd to you.
